DaDaFest International Festival

From Thursday 4th until Sunday 7th September DaDaFest International 2008 brings to the heart of Liverpool a brand new fusion of the best and brightest of cutting edge Deaf and Disability Artists offering audiences a wealth of UK and International talent, with events this year including performance, comedy, dance, music, sculpture, film, photography, and poetry.

Premiers and exclusives include Ninja Mat, Mat Fraser and Julie Atlas Muz with 'Beauty and the Beast'. Award winning Scottish dancer and performer Claire Cunningham will be showing her new Aerial work 'Mobiles' and dance piece 'Evolution'. Liverpool favourite Laurence Clark comes hot wheeled from the Fringe with his new comedy show 'Spasticus Fantasticus' whilst poet, playwright and Performer Julie MacNamara presents the first showing of her Merseyside inspired drama 'Crossings'.

At St. Georges Hall Denise Leigh will be presenting her new recital work 'Horizontal Heroines' and a programme of early music with Ukrainian musical virtuoso Stefan Andrusischyn.
In complete contrast crazy sign dance disco diva collective The Alexandras will be high kicking up a storm at an open air stage, whilst American photographer Kevin Connoly will be bringing his acclaimed 'Rolling Exhibition'.

With artworks from Ju Goslin, Gus Cummins and newly commissioned works from Aaron Williamson, Tanya Raabe, Wolfgang Temmel and Martin Bruch, clubnights from Frogtastic and DaDaLesque, the Oska Bright Film Festival, Feature films including the Northern premier of Richard Butchins BAFTA banned 'The Last American Freakshow'.

Children's events includie Neslysim Divadlo from the Czech Republic, Comedy with the delightful Lamada and Voizeux from France, new plays including Tyst Theatre from Sweden and plenty of hands on opportunities to meet the artists and explore new ideas and creations.
